Manchester Host Families are now in the latter stages of organising this years Spanish exchange program.
There are a number of schools participating this year including Wellacre, Urmston Grammar, Stretford Grammar, Stretford High, Chorlton High, Loreto High and Priestnall amongst others. Many more schools in and around Manchester are taking part, so please contact us to find out about your childs school. Whether you live in Macclesfield or Oldham, Trafford or Salford, our families are based within a 25 mile radius of Manchester.
We have a small number of places left for families who would like to take part. Your child needs to be between 11-18 years old, and you will welcome a Spanish pupil of the same age into your home for 2 weeks between 13th-27th July. The Spanish pupil will also accompany your child to school whilst they are staying in Manchester. Our host families value the cultural exchange, and strong friendships are formed between the visiting Spanish pupil and your child. We match them based on gender, age, hobbies and interests. We pay host families substantial expenses whilst the Spanish pupil is here.
Once the Spanish pupil flies back to Spain, your child will also have the option of visiting their new Spanish friend and staying with their family this August in Santander, Northern Spain. This is entirely optional, as some families have already made plans for August holidays.
This is a fantastic opportunity for each child to gain a deeper insight into family life and culture in the other childs country. An improvement in language skills is another added benefit to the exchange.
Manchester has been a pivotal city in many social and industrial developments that has shaped the world we live in. We are proud Mancunians. Lets share our Manchester with our European cousins , our beautiful and historic city, the city that has shaped our families.
